Josh Bearman is a writer whose work has appeared in McSweeney’s, The Believer, Harper’s, Wired, Rolling Stone, as well as This American Life. He is also a contributing producer on the documentary “The King of Kong,” and spent considerable time with hot sauce impresario/gamer Billy Mitchell. We discuss Josh’s early wanderlust, his work on This American Life, and have an extended conversation about “The King of Kong.” Josh discusses in detail the world of competitive classic gaming, the magic of Walter Day, and how he came to know that Billy Mitchell’s hair requires two showers, a blow dryer, and a leave-in conditioner.
